The law in regard to "concientious objection" as we know it in the U.K. doesn't exist in the U.S. Sandoval, which is why it is hard for us Brits to give advice. I have a friend who was in the very last batch of the draft in the U.K., what we used to call "National Service". Conscription! It was something like 1959 and he simply refused to go because of the disgraceful behaviour of the British Governemnt of the time in regard to the invasion of Egypt. At his tribunal he told a vermillion - faced general that they could give him a gun if they wanted, but he would decide who to shoot with it. He ended up doing two years working in "approved industries".

To be serious, if things get so bad that Congress has to resort to conscription, you won't be on your own. Others who feel the same as you will start to organise. Join in!
