Probably the most anticipated game. The game retailing at $60 was a bit of an 'irritation' at first, but after powering thru it - its actually quite worth it.
Single player campaign was very polished. Blizzard really put in a lot into buffing out the rough spots, that's expected of them and they did not disappoint. There's a huge variation of missions even though its really an RTS game. And they did away with the RPG system for heroes (like warcraft 3). The narrative was fairly standard run of the mill stuff - but its not done in a haphazard way. Many videogames with a story often feels like they've been tacked on after the game was made - Blizzard was one of the original developers that set the precedence of a solid narrative, and they are probably still on top of that pile.
I've not played multiplayer but I've heard its fair share of problems. That doesn't mean majority don't enjoy a problem free session. In fact lots of friends I know are rather enjoying it. B.net matchmaking seems troublesome but more stable over the course of the session.
As with the original Starcraft, Blizzard included a mission/world editor. I've not tried that either - though I've been reading several DotA styled mods have been in the works. Also some dude in Europe was making a 3rd person shooter from the editor. How's that for robust?
Wings of Liberty only contains the Terran (human) campaign. The Zerg and Protoss campaigns are coming at a later date - probably as an expansion. I don't feel they need to do better, just matching the current chapter in terms of refinement is good enough for me.
